Science-Pong by Thomas Schwarzrock

One day in spring while sitting in class,
We could not find how to make time pass.
We wandered the class while a sub sat asleep,
Into a drawer, did our eyes have to peek.
Luke yelled at us to all gather round,
For he needed to show us, what he had found.
Thomas, Kyle and I all came running,
For what Luke had found was really quite stunning.
There in his hand sat a small ping-pong ball,
We bounced it on the ground and even the wall.
Then, I thought, why don't we play,
On the table even, so we did for the day.
Then we thought; we need a net
But what material did we need to get?
We looked at the pile of large glove boxes,
It could have only been cooler, if we had boomboxes.
We lined them up on the table all straight
It really looked like a ping-pong table, it turned out great!
We made some rules, like to play not to ten, but fifteen
And all the other rules of Ping-pong were left pristine.
Of course we had to play with our hands,
But that didn't matter if your plays had plans.
After all the games that we played,
Singles, doubles, all games I slayed.
It is indeed true, that whoever I faced,
Had to leave the table, completely disgraced
Thomas and Luke may think they are good,
But when they tried to beat me, neither of them could.
Kyle is cocky, and full of self-pride,
But when he was beaten he sat there and cried.
We then thought the game couldn't get better,
But then we found scrapers, I was wearing a sweater.
We played with the scrapers as make-shift paddles,
But still I would win every single battle.
Even today, we still play this game
If it had not been made, I would not be the same.
