All It Takes -- Rachel Young

Just 10 seconds out of your day.
That's all it takes.
Mere seconds.

How is everything?
Did you get home ok?
Are the plans still on for tonight?

A simple phrase, a little question, just to start a conversation. Just to make sure everything is alright.
Just to show them that you care.

Hey, are you there? You haven't picked up any of my calls. Is everything ok?
I'm worried about you.

Why leave someone to wonder? Why leave them paranoid, confused, doubtful. Whats the point of leaving someone questioning, blaming themselves for your silence.

Was it something I said?
Why won't they talk to me?

You could clear all confusion, answer any question. Just reach out. Be honest, tell them how you feel. A phone call, a text, a quick 'hey, hang back a while after class so we can catch up'.
It'll only take seconds, maybe minutes. But if you truly care about them, the time spent shouldn't make a difference.

I can't stress enough how important it is to talk. To communicate. To be sincere and show you care if you truly mean it. Tell them what's on your mind.
Life's too short to hold back.

  3. This was very well-written, and you make a very good point about how important it is to talk to one another.
