Spilling the Tea : Interview with Sarah McGovern by Maura O'Hare

This Tuesday I found an article in The New York Times Magazine online. It consisted of 55 survey  questions by writer Katherine Schulten was interested in asking high school students around the country. They were pretty random, but I thought, why not pick one of my favorite highschoolers to answer a few of them? So here are some of the questions I asked my good friend Sarah, to learn some of her opinions and thoughts on life.....

How Should Parents Handle a Bad Report Card?
I think they should talk about it with their kid, not get too angry, and try to help him/her
 (Sarah personally can't relate because she is such an amazing student)

How Would You Like to Help Our World?
I can't think of anything specific, but I would really just like to make other people happy

Do You Have a Tutor?
No

Do You Use Wikipedia? 
Wikipedia is false

Should All Students Get Equal Space in a Yearbook?
I mean Seniors should probably have more because its their time to shine

What Are Your Personal Superstitions?
Superstitions? make a wish at 11:11 and when you see an eyelash

Should Stores Sell Violent Video Games to Minors?
I don't think their is a need to worry, we need to stop letting kids be so weak

How Much Food Does Your Family Waste?
Not a lot

Which Pop Music Stars Fascinate You?
Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Khalid and of course Hannah Montana

Would You Vote This Year If You Could?
Yes why don't people vote

What Would You Ask President Obama?
Uhhhh......How are you?

What Would You Risk Your Life For?
Probably my friends, family or the greater good

Where in the World Would You Like to Get Lost?
Nowhere, I would like to know where I am

Do You Judge Political Candidates by Their Looks?
No I think they are all pretty ugly

Would You Trade Your Paper Books for Digital Versions?
No because I like having a visual of how far I am into it

Do You Want to Live to 100?
Yes I would like to see what life is like and how it is different

Do You Support or Oppose the Death Penalty?
Oppose because I think spending time in jail for the rest of your life would be worse them dying

What is Your Favorite Place in Your House?
My bedroom

Why Do We Like Reality Shows So Much?
People like to see people live a fake perfect life, I don't really like them at all sooo

What Sports Teams Do You Root For?
For baseball, Yankees and Cubs
For college football, Wisconsin and the NFL, the Giants

How Do Your Parents Teach You to Behave?
My mom usually yells at me if I do something wrong but my dad can be reasonable

To What Writer Would You Award a Prize?
Whoever wrote the dictionary

Can Money Buy You Happiness?
People say not but I think it can buy u things that could make u temporarily happy

What Should the Punishment Be for Acts of Cyber bullying?
Expulsion from school

Can You Pass a Basic Religion Test?
nope

What Superpower Do You Wish You Had?
Definitely to freeze time and mind-reading, yet that is an invasion of privacy. Whoops

What Advice Would You Give Younger Kids About Middle or High School?
Always remember quality of quantity when it comes to picking friends

What’s Special About Your Hometown?
Most of my family lives near me, but I have only been in Sparta for 7 years

How Concerned Are You About Where Your Food Comes From?
Not right now, I'm pretty healthy

Is America a Great Country?
I think it has the potential to be a great country but still has problems within and we are not doing anything about it

How Will You Decide Where to Apply to College?
Money isn't a problem because I have a college fund, but my dad tells me to choose the best one I get into

Do Your Test Scores Reflect How Good Your Teachers Are?
Yes and no because if you have a teacher they could be great but if you don't put in effort you can't blame it on them

Are You Allowed to Date?
Yes
