While playing in the Florida State game, Ja Morant fell and hurt his ankle. It was obvious to see that his game style had changed because of this injury. He began to lose confidence in himself with shooting and his ability to move the ball around. With scoring 28 points in the Murray State V.S. Florida State game, Ja Murant still couldn't pull out a win for Murray State.
Ja was most disappointed in himself because he would not be, "...able to take the floor again with this group of guys" He mentioned that he was really excited for what was to come, but regretted sitting the last few minutes of the game. Ja Morant will continue to sink threes without any opposition after his career in college basketball is over, as many NBA teams are looking to recruit him.
Over 30 NBA scouts flocked to the stadium where Alabama V.S. Murray State would happen. Many of the scouts referred to Ja Morant as "college basketball's Russel Westbook" who is one of the best NBA players of his time, playing for Oklahoma City Thunder. Being compared to him is almost an honor for Ja Morant.
Overall, Ja Morant has an extremely bright future, as he has an abundant amount of offers, opening many doors for his soon to be NBA career. Even though he is only a sophomore, NBA scouts are still looking at him! Usually, they only scout for juniors and Seniors because most sophomores aren't as good as the upperclassmen. However, Ja Morant is advanced in basketball. I was expecting Ja Morant to carry Murray State to the sweet sixteen and possibly beating out Duke, however unfortunately this was not the case. I wish the best of luck to Ja Morant in his future, and hope to see him dunking on more players.
