Sports are very important to me because they have taught me so many things. I play two sports and they have both had a big impact on my life. Softball has taught me how to work with other people as a team. I used to be a pitcher and it was honestly really hard to pitch and then rely on the fielders to make a play if the batter hit the ball. Eventually it got easier and easier because I started trusting my teammates to get the job done. Being on a team is an amazing experience and it gives you, almost like, a second family (granted that you and your team get along of course). On the contrary, tennis is a more individual sport. Tennis has taught me how to rely on myself and to never give up. I can honestly say that I never give up on a point and I’m pretty proud of this because it’s something that I’ve worked really hard on. Don’t get me wrong, I love playing on a team, but some things are just better to do by yourself. I’ve learned that I can work with others as a team, but I work much better by myself. When something goes wrong I’ll usually blame everyone else except for me because I know that I always give it my all. This isn’t the ideal mindset, but let’s be real it’s so much easier to blame others. This is precisely why I like tennis so much more than softball (and also because I'm sub par at softball). Although I've learned a lot from sports, there's still a lot more to improve on. Sports have the ability to teach you things that nothing else can.
