New Years Eve Interview with Sarah Riley, Olivia Giralt, and Rebecca Nigro by Chloe Maher

At the beginning of the school year we did interviews with our classmates, so I opted this month to do New Years Eve Interviews with Sarah Riley, Becca Nigro, and Olivia Giralt, three tenth graders at Sparta High School.

What was an unexpected happy thing that happened this past year?

Olivia said this year she was especially happy about visiting California where she saw Yosemite and visited "adventurous" San Francisco, which she loved.
Becca and Sarah both said they were both thrilled to see the new Broadway musical Mean Girls this year. Sarah was surprised with tickets this month as an early Christmas gift. Whereas Becca was given tickets for her sixteenth birthday in October along with her sister.

Best Movie of the Past Year?

Olivia and Becca both agreed that Crazy Rich Asians, starring Henry Goulding and Constance Wu, was the best movie of 2018. Olivia said she enjoyed it because it was tear evoking, diverse, and just an all around good movie. Becca simply said she liked it because it was a really good romantic comedy, with a variety of unique characters.
Sarah, when questioned, thought about it for a bit, before ultimately declaring she loved Incredibles 2, the long awaited Disney sequel to the Incredibles.

What are three words you'd use to describe this past year?

Becca said her year was, "fun, cool, and cold."
Olivia said hers was, "thrilling, challenging, and forgettable."
Sarah described hers as, "interesting, good, and exciting."

Why would you choose those three words?

Becca said she'd describe her year this way because it was "fun, cool, and snowed in April this year."
Sarah chose those three words because she, "learned a lot of different things this year in multiple aspects in a positive way and there were lots of surprises."

What was your single biggest time waster this year?

While scrolling through Instagram, Olivia stated, " I tend to use social media too much."
Becca said she spent, "way too much," time on youtube.
Sarah's biggest time waster was also youtube. However in the New Year, she says she plans to watch less.

What are your New Years Resolutions?

Becca's 2018 Resolution is to come up with a 2019 resolution, "by the time the ball drops."
Sarah says that in the New Year she'd like to do better in school.
Olivia, like Sarah, would also like to do better in school. However, she also wants to keep her room organized so she can stay focused.

Do you think you'll go through with your resolutions?

Becca said, "definitely not."
Olivia and Sarah both said they hope to, and knowing them they definitely will.

Becca, Olivia, and Sarah all requested not to be photographed due to impending awkwardness.

Here's a picture of Becca's super festive New Years Scrunchie!

And here are Olivia's New Years supplies!

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone has a great New Years!
