Maura's Interview by Sarah McGovern

Today I had the pleasure of interviweing Maura O'Hare to get to know who she is as a person better. I learned that Maura is a compassionate and warm-hearted girl with a sense of humor. Throughout our conversation, I came to the conclusion that it's extremely important and valuable to get to know the people that you are surrounded by for the majority of the year. After asking Maura jusr a few questions I feel like I know her a lot better.

The Interview:

If you could do anything for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
  • I don’t know, I want to have a family and husband, live in a nice town or maybe stay in Sparta, and just have a good life overall.
What annoys you the most about people?
  • I hate when people, well mostly girls, in our grade say they don’t like someone and then act like they are best friends with the person they were just talking bad about. I feel like there’s a lot of fakeness.
What do you lie the most about?
  • How I feel sometimes, actually. I’ll say I’m fine but I'm not fine or say I’m happy but I’m sad.
Are you more afraid of death or not really living?
  • I'm not afraid of death, I guess I don't want to be alive if I don't really enjoy my life because that doesn’t sound worth it.
What is the nickname that your friends have given you and what does it mean?
  • Oh my god. I can't say that it's embarrassing.
Would you put family or friends first?
  • Oh jesus. I don't know. Obviously I love my family even though they annoy me sometimes. But I also love my friends. I'd probably chose my family because you aren't friends with people forever.
What are you most grateful for in your life?
  • The town I live in because we live in a nice neighborhood compared to other places and everything my parents have given me that I don't really have to work for.
If you only had one year to live what would you change about your life?
  • Tell everyone off that I don't like, do some stuff on my bucket list, do some risky stunts. Tell everyone I love that I love them so they know.
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
  • My sister told me before high school that everyone is mean but not to worry about it. This probably sounds really depressing, Don't worry guys, I’m fine.
Do you believe in soul mates?
  • I do. You probably won't find them until you've experienced more but I think everyone will find someone that was meant to be with them.
What's your philosophy in life?
  • There’s a quote I saw that I really liked. Be yourself, everyone else is taken. Like for example, I like Nick but I can't be Nick because Nick is taken. I’M MAURA.
What was the best phase in your life?
  • Maybe right now. High school is really good so far. I was really weird in middle school. I'm living strong.
What kind of parent do you think youll be?
  • I want to be a really good mom. I want my kids to have fun but also not be the crazy mom and I want to have a good relationship with my kids while obviously keeping them safe.

Overall, my interview with my peer Maura was a good experience and it was interesting to hear her answers to my questions.
